New Zealand's First Olympians

L.I to Create a small brochure(Information) of our first Olympians.

Today for this activity me and my group were required to create a small information brochure, of our first Olympians.

Me and my group each talked about one of the Olympic player's.

These Olympic players are New Zealand’s first Olympic athlete’s. If you didn’t know, Violet Walrond was New Zealand’s first female Olympian, She was only 14 when she got selected to be an Olympian, and she was 15 when swam at the 1920 Antwerp games.

Flowcharts and Radio Chat

L.I To understand how flowcharts relate to coding blocks.

To understand how to get the microbit to talk to another microbit using radio signals

Here is the link to my flowchart practice document

Link to DLO

The next activity today was coding the microbit to send a radio signal to another microbit. We had to make sure that both microbits were on the same group number so we didn't accidently get a message from another group.

This week for coding our lesson was about flow charts and radio chat. We were working with the microbits. Our task for today were split into two. Our first part of the task was to complete the flow charts with different coding shapes. The next part of the task was about trying to code out microbit to send radio signals  to another micro bit. For this part of the task we had to work in partners. We need to make sure both microbits were on the same group number so we didn't accidentally get a message from another group.

Matariki

L.I To strengthen our connections to Matariki

Matariki is the Maori new year celebration. It takes places each year when the cluster of stars known as Matariki are seen in our skies. The new year is a time for new beginnings and is a time to embrace tradition.
To strengthen our connections to Matariki we had a choice of research activities.
I found out that Matariki only shows up on the latest june, and i also found out that he got his eyes from tawhirimatea because tawhirimatea got angry and threw his eyes into the sky.
