For this activity, me and my group made a " Exploring Current Events" DLO. And we also explored Kiwikids  News. Kiwikids News, is basically about what has happened today or last week, And as you can see I was talking about NASA. It was really fun talking about NASA cause I just found out who " Bennu" Is, If you didn't know who bennu is, Bennu is a Asteroid, and bennu is 4.5 Billion years old.

I found this activity really fun because I got to learn about NASA, and what they did.

My passion-C.A.R.E Award

L.I To write what my personal passion is and why

This activity I am talking about is my personal passion. This is a C.A.R.E Award task. This task was really easy to do because all I had to do was make a DLO on my personal passion, my personal passion is drawing, but the only thing I can draw is just anime characters, I tried to draw other things but it was very hard for me, so then I just drew anime characters instead.

This C.A.R.E Award was really fun to make because I got to tell others what my personal passion is.

Soccer

On Wednesday some of the year 7&8 boys and girls had a soccer game, and that soccer game was on Madills Farm.

The year 7 and 8 girls & boys, had their first game against Stonefield, Me and the rest of the year 7 and 8 girls played on pitch 2 and pitch 3. The boys played against other boys from different schools, while me and my group went against the Stonefield girls and the Ruapotaka girls. We were supposed to go up against Sylvia park school but then they left early so then we went up against Glen Brae, their school had a lot of tall people, but we didn't get any scores against them. So when the bell rang there we all got our backs packed and put it on the bus, ready to leave.

I really enjoyed playing soccer because it was a very challenging game, and it was also really fun to play against other schools.

Silver confidence award/How to stand up to bullies.

 L.I To create a DLO on how to stand up to bullies.

This activity is for  confidence CARE award badge.

For this activity I needed to do a DLO on" How to stand up to bullies". So on the right I'm talking about where you could be bullied and why, and on the left there are bullet points about what you should do if a bully bullies you. And I also researched some of words.

I really liked this activity because this could help others that are getting bullied, and it can teach people how to prevent bulling or how to stop it from getting more bigger.

Today for this activity me and my group made a Diagram of an Inclined Plane. For this DLO we all needed to make our own Diagram or we could have done one as a group but we all wanted to do one on our own, So as you can see this is my diagram of an Inclined plane, me and my group also labelled the objects and person.

I really enjoyed this activity because I found out about what an Inclined Plane is.

Isaac Newton | Reading/Science

 L.I to learn about Sir Isaac Newton

This week in Reading, LS2 has been working towards Simple Machines. Apart of this, we were required to learn about Isaac Newton. Isaac Newton is a physicist, mathematician, theologian and a Astronomer. We were also required to create a DLO with the following questions: Why is his work important? What did he find out? How does his work connect to simple machines?

I found this interesting because I never knew he was the one who discovered the laws of gravity and motion.

Pulley

L.I To use our smart searching skills to find out about pulleys.

We have been learning about simple machines. There are 6 different types of simple machines. This week we learnt about pulleys. Our DLO shows our labelled diagrams of a pulley system. A labelled diagram is an information picture. Pulleys are useful for heavy loads or small loads, Pulleys help to put coaches or something heavy you want into the house.

 L.I to stop. Think and make smart decisions with money.

\Today someone from the bank came to PBS to teach half of my class on" How to save money" and that person's name was Marlon.

In the beginning Marlon was asking us questions on" What is the bank" and we said that the bank holds our money and keeps it safe. After he talked about" What is the bank" we played a game, and that game was called" Holiday".

So first Marlon told us to get into 4 to 5 groups. After we finished getting into our groups he told us to make a group name and my group name was called" The money maker's". After we all made our group name, Marlon gave each group 1800$ to spend our holiday on. The holiday we were all going on was a trip to Fiji. And if we needed more money we could use the Banks money which is the Credit card. But if we used the banks money then we would have needed to pay them back. But if we had no more money left then that would mean were in debt, and we all know that being I debt is bad.

The Categories we used to spend our money on was Passport, Insurance, Accommodation, Activities, Plane Ticket and the food.

But when we finished our activities in the game we got hungry but the food places in the hotel weren't open so we went to" Joe's Fish & Chip" Shop, But when we ate their food we got food poised so we went to the hospital, But when we finished in the hospital they said we had to pay for the hospital bill, but none of the groups had enough money but me and my group had insurance so we didn't have to do anything, because we had insurance. But for the other groups Marlon said " Ok so if the dice rolls on 1 2 3 then you have to pay the hospital bill, but if it land on 5 or 6 then you don't have to pay for the hospital bill" So most of the groups got 5 and 6 but only one group got 3, so that means that they had to pay for the hospital bill, but they didn't have enough so they were  in debt.

But if we got the most expensive stuff then we would have got more points, but me and my group only had 6 points and 300$'s left.

I really enjoyed this game because it was challenging and it was about how to save your money.

And remember Stop. Think. And make Smart Decisions with money.   

A Moment in Time Poem

 L.I To use the language features and structure of published poem to help use write our own poem.

We looked at the language features and structure of a poem called ‘A Moment in Time’ and used our experiences from camp to follow the structure and collaboratively create our own moment in time poem. To describe what we heard, what we saw, how we felt and what we wondered we used our senses, adjectives and adverbs.

Adjectives are words that describe how feel.

Adverbs are the same as adjectives but it ends with" ly"

L.I to achieve a C.A.R.E AWARD

For this activity I completed one of my care awards. This care award is for respect , the task that I have completed is a thank you letter to a teacher and the teacher that ive chosen is Mrs Fisi'iahi . The reason why I chose Mrs Fisi'iahi is because she helps build my self esteem and tells stays by my side till I succeed . Something i found interesting about this activity is using my words from my hearts to take the time to write a thank you letter to a graceful and brilliant women . Thank you Mrs Fisi'iahi .
